Achy joints are a common health problem for the everyday person. If you experience this from time to time, I have a question. Do you stretch? Honest answers only please. If you have a hard time committing to a stretch routine, come on into a stretch center and one of our stretch therapists can take you through a routine just for you and provide you what you need to start at home on your own. Have you ever heard the saying “If you don’t use it. You lose it.” That applies to your joint range of motion too. In our modern time it’s very easy to go through your day without utilizing the full range of motion in your joints such as your knees, hips, and shoulders. Overtime this catches up to you in a hurry so the sooner we get that blood pumping the better.
Assisted stretching will promote better blood flow to the joints and surrounding areas to make sure your body is getting the nutrients and oxygen it needs to stay healthy. The enhanced blood flow will help remove waste products your body produces overtime, reducing inflammation in those joints. Assisted stretching is very beneficial for those who have conditions like arthritis, where improved blood flow to the area can help reduce symptoms and keep that joint moving easier than it would without.
Not only is assisted stretching an easy way to help joint pain, that’s not all it can help with. Over time your body mechanics create muscle imbalances that can contribute to joint stress and discomfort. When muscles on one side of a joint are tighter or stronger than those on the opposite side, it can lead to uneven joint loading and wear. Assisted stretching helps balance you out and reduce unnecessary strain on the joints. This should help decrease the risk of overuse injuries and chronic pain in the joints you may have. We just want to help you move without having to be cautious of pain or injury happening.
